Internal gears are often overlooked for the importance they play in the gear industry. Most machine manufacturers cater to making traditional gear cutting machines versatile, while ‘shapers’ that cut internals, remain defined by a narrow band of characteristics. That said, we can say that over the years we have literally cut many thousands of parts in our Fellows Type 7 and 36 gear shapers, taking them to the limits of their specifications or even modifying the machine, to create the gear needed by our customer.
The integral key part of internal gears is their fit to the mating part. We specialize in providing gears that have exact tolerances that demand either an interference or clearance fit with mate. Our sales and engineering team will work with you to decide which mating fit you require.
With the acquisition of our new CNC shaper, we can continue to produce gears with higher accuracies and ensure the exact fit required with the mating part.
